No blog should come without illustration. Every web user is more likely to read your entry if you include images along with it. Sometimes the images in your post are crucial, and sometimes they are just an addition. Where to find images to publish in WP and what to choose?
Blog images – they make you want to read (view)!
Images enhance the aesthetic value of the entry and the blog as a whole, whether they are just a background or Illustrate exactly what we are writing about. Nowadays, it is difficult to find blogs that are completely lacking images, and in the case of some topics, adding images to the content is essential. The importance of images on a blog should be taken into account especially by novice bloggers, whose names in the blogosphere and social media are still unknown. Ironically, readers judge newcomers not just by the content of their entries.
Ensuring the proper graphic design of the blog should be especially important for those who write about beauty, fashion, beauty products, healthy lifestyle or gadgets. Images also have a decisive impact on the legibility and accessibility of culinary blogs, where photographs directly determine the number of views. As you know, we love to look at appetising food, and the images serve as our culinary inspirations. Therefore we first pay attention to the images, before viewing the content or recipe associated with them.
Are you a blogger? Start taking photos!
It is not without reason that many bloggers have basic knowledge of photography. For example, the authors of culinary pages photograph their dishes, because illustrating entries with images taken from the web would be missing the point. Many authors of lifestyle blogs, especially those who focus on beauty take photos themselves as well. These are photographs of beauty products, accessories and natural ingredients. In DIY-style entries, written content is of secondary importance – what counts is showing the process through Images or a video.
Photos taken for a blog should not only be bright and pretty. The impression of harmony they create with the rest of the website and the chosen theme is also pleasant to the eye. It is best to watermark your own photos so that no one else can use them on competing blogs. Illustrating an entry with photos of your own authorship usually brings a lot of fun, so most creators invest in their own photography equipment.

Images from the web – where to find them?
If we don’t have our own camera or our smartphone doesn’t take good enough pictures (or we simply don’t want to take photos ourselves), we can use services that provide photos based on CC licenses. The safest images are those with CC0 (Creative Commons “Zero”) licenses, i.e. those with a public domain status. We can use, distribute, and change them without providing any information about the authors (although if possible, it’s a good idea to include an appropriate comment). First, we should look at websites that collect free CC0 or CC BY (crediting the author) images. While maintaining a blog, we can also use photo banks, where purchasable works are available.
However, there is no need for that – on most of the free websites you’ll find Good quality, professional images, which will be enough to enhance our blog. Looking for images for our websites, we should remember not to use images found in a search engine. Publishing such images may turn out to be an illegal activity and mean substantial legal problems for us.
