Getting started

We assume you have your own WordPress installation, so let's get started! if not, and if you don't know how to do that, check this link

1. Installationtop

There are 2 ways to install wordpress theme: upload unzipped theme via FTP or use the zipped file directly by on the wordpress theme installer .
You have to setup Wordpress first. (download it at : link)

1.1 Upload via FTP
  • Log into your site via FTP . (if you don't have any FTP program you can use FileZilla )
  • Browse to your folder located at
  • Upload the un-zipped theme folder
  • Login to Wordpress, in Left Menu go to Apperance -> Themes
  • Find & Activate the theme

1.2 Upload via Wordpress
  • Login to Wordpress
  • go to Apperance -> Themes
  • you will see Install Theme tabs. click Upload right below the tab
  • Click choose file, browse to theme zipped theme file , click Install and wait for a seccond.
  • Activate the theme

2. Import & Setup Sample Datatop

The theme comes with Sample data (just like the theme preview) that allow you to create some dummy content to your site to help you get started with the theme.

2.1 How to Import the sample data?
  • You can find the demo.xml file in theme package.
  • Login to Wordpress, in Left Menu go to Tools -> Import
  • Choose Wordpress, if the plugin haven't not been installed , the popup window will show up and just click Install Now.
  • Click Activate Plugin & Run Importer
  • Click choose and browse to the demo.xml
  • Click upload file and import,
  • Wait a few seconds .


2.2 Setting up the menu

Now go to Apperance -> Menus, box Theme Locations select the menu as the following image

2.3 Setting up the Homepage & Blog page (post page).

You can easily use a static page as a homepage. Go to Settings -> Reading . In this case, I choose Home (static page) for my home page, and Blog for posts page.

3. Designare Admin Paneltop

This theme comes with a very powerful options panel. After the theme is installed you can access the options panel by logging into the Wordpress dashboard and clicking Freshlook Options. All options are covered in detail in the video tutorials. Go to menu Appearance -> Freshlook Options and discover it!

    3.1 Global options
  • General settings like your logo, slogan, Favicon...
  • Choose your theme style, colors, backgrounds, fonts...
  • Change the style of text elements: links, headings and paragraphs.
  • Edit the footer contents and add the twitter scroller.
  • Easily add and edit Google Fonts in your theme.
  • Set top content like email, address, phone...
  • Create as many sidebars you want.
  • Setting the Blog reading option.
  • Setting an Predefined Style to your portfolio.
  • Customize the language of your website.
  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO) options.

4. Setting Sliderstop

    4.1 Revolution Slider
  • Upload the Plugin via Wordpress Plugins and Activate it. You can find the inside the folder "Plugins"
  • Import rev slider content (revslider.txt) if you want it like our demo
  • Create a page with a HomePage-Template
  • Select the slider in the Page options -> Home Page Settings -> Main Slider
  • Hit Publish

  • NOTE: You can use the revolution slider documentation to learn how to manage this awesome plugin. Find it inside the Plugins folder.

    4.2 Camera Slider

    First create the Slider:

  • Go to Appearance > Camera Slider.
  • Add a New Camera Slider
  • Fill the options with your images, text and buttons.

  • Now you need to create the Home page to show the slider:

  • Create a page with a HomePage-Template
  • Select the slider in the Page options -> Home Page Settings -> Main Slider
  • Hit Publish
    4.3 Flexslider

    First create the Slider:

  • Go to Appearance > Flex Slider.
  • Add a New Flexslider Slider
  • To the slider add the images captions and url's.

  • Now you need to create the Home page to show the slider:

  • Create a page with a HomePage-Template
  • Now go to the Shortcodes Button
  • Insert a Media -> Slider
  • Hit Publish
    4.4 Simple Image - NoSlider
  • Go to Pages > Add New.
  • Create a page with a HomePage-Template
  • Go to Shortcodes > Media -> Images
  • Insert your image
  • Hit Publish

5. Using Page templatestop

    5.1 Freshlook come with 8 templates
  • Default Template
  • Blog Template Full-Width
  • Blog Template Left Sidebar
  • Blog Template Right Sidebar
  • Template Contacts
  • Home Page Template
  • Projects Template - Style1
  • Projects Template - Style2

  • To use the page templates, simply create a new page in Pages -> Add new and choose the template you want to use for that page in Page Attributes box.

6. Custom Page Settingstop

With this custom settings, you can customize every page individually, customize Header Background, Header Text, Body Options, Homepage Settings...

NOTE: If you choose this options, they will override the options that you have selected in the Freshlook Admin Panel.

7. Setting Portfolio Pagestop

This Theme comes with custom projects Structure where you can manage different portfolios and respective projects.

You can create unlimited portfolios and inside the portfolios you can create unlimited projects. Then you can create unlimited collections of photos/videos and associate them to the respective project.

    7.1 Key steps to follow
  • Go to Projects > Photo or Video Collection.
  • There you can edit a collection or create a new one, clicking Add New Collection and insert the name of it.
  • To add a photo/video to you collection just upload one or insert the url/ID and click ADD. You can reorganize the order of your photos/videos by drag and drop them.
  • You dont need to save the collection.
  • Click on Projects > Projects Categories.
  • Enter a Name for your Category and click on Add New Category.
  • Go to Projects > Add New.
  • There you can add a Title and a content to your project, choose the Project Thumbnail Image and the Photo/Video Collection
  • In the right side panel you can associate the project to a specific Category and/or Portfolio (early created).
  • After click on Publish. button to publish your project.

8. Setting Contact Pagetop

8.1 Create a Contact Page width a full-width google maps
  • Go to Pages > Add New.
  • Select the template Contacts in the Page Attributes
  • Now go to Freshlook Page Settings -> Fullwidth Google Map.
  • Set the Latitude, Longitude and Map Height
  • Hit Publish

9. Setting Blog Pagetop

    9.1 Create the Page
  • Go to Pages > Add New.
  • Select one of the templates, Full-Width, Left Sidebar and Right Sidebar in the Page Attributes

    9.2 Customize Blog Sidebar
  • Go to Appearance > Widgets.
  • Drag-and-drop widgets you'd like to use into the "BlogSidebar" widget area, here's an example:

    9.3 Custom Post Settings
  • In the Freshlook Post Type Settings you can edit the post type, select the slider and sidebar orientation for your post.

  • If you choose the Post Type "Featured Image", use the Wordpress native Featured Image upload.
  • Hit Publish

    9.4 Blog Reading Option
  • Go to Appearance -> Freshlook Options.
  • Now on General -> Blog
  • Select the Reading Type
  • Hit Save Changes

10. Setting Testimonialstop

    10.1 How to create it
  • Go to Testimonials > Add New.
  • Enter the testimonial content.
  • Enter the Testimonial Author and Testimonial Author Company.
  • Enter Publish.

    10.2 Use Testimonials Shortcode
  • Go to the Shortcodes Button > Features -> Testimonials.
  • Now you have some options to edit, like this

11. Create Sidebarstop

    11.1 Create the Sidebar in the Admin Panel
  • Go to Appearance > Freshlook Options.
  • Now on General > Sidebars.
  • Enter a Name for the sidebar.
  • Hit Add Sidebar.

    11.2 Add Widgets to the Sidebar
  • Go to Appearance > Widgets.
  • Drag-and-drop widgets you'd like to use into "Your Sidebar" widget area, here's an example:
    11.3 Add the Sidebar to your Page
  • Go to Pages > Add New.
  • Go to Shortcodes > Insert Column Layout Shortcode.
  • Now divide the page like you want, for example into 3 columns, 2/3 + 1/3
  • Inside the column 1/3, go to Shortcodes -> Features -> Custom Sidebar and insert your sidebar.
